Overtime grown by leaps and bounds Merchantrade's business activities are prepaid mobile and remittance services targeting foreign workers and expatriates working in Malaysia namely from India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Nepal, Philippines, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, China, Pakistan, Singapore, United Kingdom, New Zealand and Australia.

As for the remittance service, Merchantrade obtained the license to operate remittance business from the Central Bank of Malaysia in 2007. One of the pioneer non-bank organizations to receive license to operate remittance business in Malaysia, Merchantrade’s outbound remittance transaction numbers are growing aggressively. Such remittance service is in line of the global efforts targeting to secure the transparency on the personal remittance.

Being the first Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) in Malaysia, Merchantrade capitalizes on mobile network infrastructure facilities owned by Celcom (Malaysia) Berhad. Merchantrade launched its mobile service in mid 2007 and has over 340,000 active subscribers.
The voice package for mobile services includes numerous support services in the foreign workers own language on top of having one of the lowest domestic and international call rates in the market, enabling customers to stay connected affordably at all times.
